What are my payment options?

For individual patrons, the following are your payment options:

Credit/Debit Card or ACH Payment Option – You authorize the West Virginia Parkways Authority to charge your credit card or ACH for the initial discount plan you choose.  You can also indicate if you want your account to automatically renew your discount plan quarterly or yearly with the provided billing information.

Cash, Check or Money Order Payment Option – Your application must be accompanied by a personal check or money order for the amount of the plan you choose made payable to the West Virginia Parkways Authority.  Cash payments may only be made in person at the Customer Service Center.

Additional Prepaid Toll Balance Option – West Virginia Parkways offers a pre-paid account for individuals paying with a Credit/Debit Card or ACH.  A prepaid toll balance must be established for those patrons choosing Discount Plan #2 and can be added on to Discount Plan #1.  The prepaid balance can also be used anywhere E-ZPass® is accepted.  Each time you drive on a compatible toll road the tolls will be debited against this balance.  When your account balance runs low (minimum $10.00), our E-ZPass® system automatically replenishes your account balance from the form of payment you provided. As part of this option, you agree to have your account automatically replenished when the account falls below the low balance threshold.  The replenishment amount may be adjusted to reflect the average monthly account activity, however you will be notified of any changes regarding your account.

What credit cards do you accept?

We currently accept MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and American Express.

Can I open an account with an account balance without the automatic replenishment option?

No, the only option for pre-paid accounts is to have an accepted form of payment on file.  Manually replenishing your E-ZPass account with cash, check or credit card is not available.

Do I have to use a credit or debit card to replenish my account?

No. You can also pay by automatic withdrawal from a checking account (ACH/EFT).

Can I add another vehicle to my account online?

Yes, this option is currently available.

Why can't I view the individual transponder balances on my account?

If you have multiple E-ZPass® transponders on your account, they share one account balance.  You can still view individual transaction histories by transponder and monthly toll usage.

How do I access my West Virginia E-ZPass® account online?

You can access your account 24-hours a day online.  If you have not visited our website or you are a new West Virginia E-ZPass® customer you will need to set up your online account.  You will need (1) West Virginia E-ZPass® account number, (2) West Virginia E-ZPass® transponder number, and (3) E-mail address that is on file for your West Virginia E-ZPass® account.

What functions do I have in my online account?

You can update your personal account and payment information, review current transactions and past statements and check your balance.  From within your account you can also purchase additional E-ZPass® transponders, report an E-ZPass® lost or stolen and change your Password, modify/delete or add additional vehicles to your E-ZPass® account.

Why did I receive a "low balance" lane sign notification?

The “Low Balance” sign indicator is a courtesy for our customers.  This sign means your E-ZPass® account has just gone below the minimum account balance threshold and the form of payment associated with your E-ZPass® account will be charged that night or next business night.  This is the only indication your credit card or bank account will be debited when replenishing your E-ZPass® account.  If you receive this message for more than 24 hours, it may indicate we have a problem with the replenishment and you need to contact our Customer Service Center at 1-800-206-6222.

Can I use my E-ZPass® on other toll roads?

You can use your West Virginia E-ZPass® on any toll road that accepts E-ZPass®, as long as your West Virginia E-ZPass® account is valid with a Pre-Paid balance within 72 hours prior to your out-of-state travels then you do not have to anything, just enjoy you trip!

I sometimes pull a trailer with my vehicle.  Can I still use my transponder?

As long as you have an account set up with a Pre-Paid Balance, Yes. In this instance, the equipment in the lane identifies that your vehicle is pulling a trailer and charges you accordingly.

What do I have to do if I buy a new car or get new plates?

Contact the West Virginia E-ZPass® Customer Service Center at 1-800-206-6222 or login to your account management as soon as possible.

How do I close my account?

Send your transponder (wrapped in foil) with a letter requesting the E-ZPass® account be closed. Your balance will be refunded within 30-90 days of receipt of the transponder and request. If you do not return the E-ZPass® or it is in poor condition, you will be charged $25.00 for the transponder.
