CHARLESTON, W.Va.- Has your license plate seen better days? DMV reminds motorists that replacing worn or faded standard license plates is easy and convenient with its new, online, self-service application at
https://apps.wv.gov/dmv/selfservice.
Steve Dale, DMV Commissioner, also reminds customers that worn or faded standard license plates can be replaced at the time of renewal by mail or at a DMV Regional office, at no extra charge over the renewal fee of $30. Customers just need to mark on their renewal form that a new plate is needed and a replacement will be issued instead of the standard renewal decal. Worn or illegible specialty and personalized plates do require special ordering, which can be done by contacting DMV at 1-800-642-9066.
Other DMV services are also available online through the DMV Self Service application. DMV Self Service allows you to obtain replacement vehicle registration cards and decals, to check points accumulated on a driver’s license, and to verify a current driver’s license status from your computer. Soon individual driving records will be available online as well!
