Delays Possible on WV 51 & US 11 for Road Work

BURLINGTON – The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists of upcoming work on Gerrardstown Road (WV 51), Winchester Ave (US 11) and Middleway Pike (WV 51) in Inwood, beginning Dec. 7.

            Triton Construction will be shifting lanes and adding a center turning lane on WV 51 from Pilgrim Street (Berkeley County Route 51/4) to Sader Drive during morning hours.

            Work to widen the south side of Gerrardstown Road (WV 51) from Pilgrim Street to Winchester Avenue (US 11) will take place during the day.

            The contractor will also be installing a concrete barrier on Middleway Pike (WV 51) from Jubal Early Avenue to Pickett Avenue during evening hours. Work will then begin on a retaining wall in the same location.

Traffic delays are possible, but access to businesses will remain open. This work may last for months and is part of the Inwood bypass project to widen WV 51.

            Triton Construction will be shifting lanes and removing the center turning lane on WV 51 from Pilgrim Street (Berkeley County Route 51/4) to Winchester Avenue (US 11) during evening hours.

            Triton Construction will also be widening the roadway on the east side of US 11 from Gerrardstown Road (WV 51) to Sader Drive during morning hours.

Traffic delays are possible, but access to businesses will remain open. Access to Sader Drive from US 11 may be limited during morning hours.

            This work may last for months and is part of the Inwood bypass project to widen WV 51.
