Cane Hill Bridge

Cane Hill Bridge

The Cane Hill Bridge Project is located on County Route 11/1 over the Eighteen mile Creek in Putnam County, West Virginia.   The WVDOH is evaluating five alternatives for the bridge replacement project.

Alternative #1- Proposes constructing a new bridge at existing location with a detour on existing roads.

Alternative #2- Proposes to build a new bridge upstream of the existing bridge.

Alternative #3- Proposes to build a new bridge downstream of the existing bridge.

Alternative #4-Proposes to rehabilitate the existing bridge.

Alternative #5- Proposes the no build option.  Due to the deteriorating condition of the existing structure, the No-Build Alternative will eventually result in the permanent closure of the bridge to traffic.

The WVDOH recommends that Alternative #1 be considered as the preferred alternative. This alternative provides a new bridge at the existing location while utilizing County Route 11/1, County Route 10, and County Route 11/2 to maintain vehicular access during construction.

The comment period for this project ended on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
