CHARLESTON, WV - The Kanawha City regional office of the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles will close early today, Thursday, February 22, 2024, due to a water main break. The office is expected to re-open on Friday, February 23, 2024.
DMV customers are encouraged to use one of the other 25 regional offices in the state. Many DMV services are also available online.
Residents can use the
DMV Self Service portal to renew driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations, take the online knowledge test, change their address, pay property taxes, request a personalized license plate, and get duplicate registration cards, license plates, and registration decals.
The DMV Now Kiosk at the Kanawha City regional office will not be accessible to customers while the office is closed. Customers can use one of 11 other self service
DMV Now Kiosks throughout the state. Residents can renew their driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations, get a driver’s license record, and duplicate registration cards at the DMV Now Kiosks.
