NOTICE OF AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC MEETING AND COMMENT ON THE
PROPOSED PARTIAL ABANDONMENT OF COUNTY ROUTE 47/4 (1.22 MILES) AND THE
PROPOSED ABANDONMENT IN ITS ENTIRETY OF COUNTY ROUTE 47/6 (0.47 MILE)
LOCATED IN WIRT COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA
The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) will host a virtual informational public meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2023, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., regarding:
1. The proposed partial abandonment of County Route 47/4, beginning at a point on CR 47/4, said point being 2.10 miles southeast of the junction of CR 6 and CR 47/4; thence northeasterly 1.22 miles and ending, said ending point being 0.66 mile from the junction of CR 47/4 and WV 47, as located in Wirt County, West Virginia. Total length proposed to be abandoned from CR 47/4 is 1.22 miles; and
2. The proposed abandonment in its entirety of County Route 47/6, beginning at a point on CR 47/4, said point being 0.11 mile north of the junction of CR 47/4 and CR 10/4; thence proceeding in a northwesterly direction 0.47 mile and ending, as located in Wirt County, West Virginia. Total length proposed to be abandoned from CR 47/6 is 0.47 mile. Total length proposed to be abandoned from CR 47/6 is 0.47 mile.
During the meeting, WVDOT staff will present background information about the proposed abandonment. The WVDOT will use the information the public provides during the meeting to decide if the proposed abandonment is appropriate. The January 12, 2023 informational meeting will provide citizens the opportunity to comment upon the proposed partial abandonment and abandonment in its entirety in Wirt County, West Virginia. WVDOH District 3 requested consideration of the abandonment on behalf of adjacent property owners.

FORMAL PRESENTATION OF THE PROPOSAL WILL BE MADE ON JANUARY 12, 2023 AT 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM. The scheduled informational public meeting is from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the public will be afforded the opportunity to give written comments on the project throughout the meeting.
The District is requesting the abandonment on behalf adjacent property owners.
