We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2014 WVDOT/MPO Transportation Planning Conference. The conference will be held at the Historic Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg, WV. It will begin at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 7th and conclude at noon on Thursday, October 9th. There will also be an MPO forum on Tuesday, October 7th at 10:00 a.m. Registration for the conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. on October 7th.
The conference fee is $20 for all attendees who are not presenting at the conference. WV State employees can pay the registration fee by check or cash (no credit cards) during the conference registration on October 7th. State employees will be reimbursed the registration fee and are to list this on their expense account as “other” expenses. All other attendees should submit their registration fee along with the hard copy registration form prior to the conference.
The costs of meals that are provided at the conference center are listed individually on the registration form and should be selected and paid for along with your registration fee. Please make the check payable to the West Virginia Division of Highways and mail it to the address listed on the registration form.
DOH and MPO attendees will not be charged for meals provided at the conference. As a reminder, WVDOH employees who attend the conference will not be reimbursed for any meal in lieu of those provided in conjunction with the conference.
The traditional cookout will be held on Wednesday evening, October 8th. There is no charge for this event. On Tuesday the following activities are available: a morning tour of the Blennerhassett Museum, an evening bike tour, and a guided “Ghost Tour” which has been ranked as the 8th best ghost tour in the US. (More information about the tour can be found at www.parkersburgtours.com.) With the exception of bike rentals, all Tuesday activities are free to conference registrants. To enable us to get a count of participants for meals and activities please check the appropriate boxes on the registration form.

Make sure to reference the 2014 WVDOH Planning Conference when making reservations at these hotels. Hotel reservations should be made by September 6th. All rooms reserved for the conference will be released to the public after this date.
All participants should register online. In addition, if you are sending in a payment, download and complete the hard copy registration form and mail it with an enclosed check to Lorna Harris at the WV DOH. To assist the conference planners, please return your completed registration forms by September 19th.
