The WV 869 – Mason CO 40 project includes paving the 14.60 mile new corridor along with the construction of an interchange at WV 869. This work will allow the use of the new corridor, reducing traveler commuting time.
This project is funded through the Roads to Prosperity constitutional amendment. This was envisioned by Governor Jim Justice as a way to drive West Virginia forward to more jobs and better infrastructure.This project is funded through the Roads to Prosperity Constitutional Amendment allowing the issuance of up to $1.6 Billion of General Obligation (GO) Bonds. The GO bonds are funded by increases to vehicle registration fees and the consumer sales tax on motor vehicles, and raising the floor on the average wholesale price of gas (SB 1006). This was envisioned by Governor Jim Justice as a way to drive West Virginia forward to more jobs and better infrastructure.
