I’m Everett Frazier, and I was privileged and honored to be appointed in January 2020 by Governor Jim Justice as Commissioner of the DMV.
I have served more than 30 years in the auto industry, including as Director of Operations for Thornhill GM Superstore in Logan County.
I look forward to making a positive impact in this state, specifically taking advantage of the opportunity to maximize the use of technology for our customers to make the DMV more efficient and user-friendly. I believe every customer should be treated as a guest!
As Commissioner, I was only in office two months when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I had to lean on and mobilize my leadership team quickly to increase online services, institute an appointment-based system for the regional offices, be one of the first to use contactless driver skills testing so the licensing process could continue, and issue extensions on expiration dates for licenses and registrations to help our customers.
Providing quality, efficient customer service is so important to me and this agency. I want to encourage you to explore the website and take a look at everything DMV is doing. You’ll see that we strive to go above and beyond our mission:

We have 25 Regional Offices across the state equipped to serve the driving public, and staffed with knowledgeable individuals ready to answer questions and meet your needs. I am proud of my staff, and appreciate the loyalty of our hard-working employees, those in the regional offices, and those working "behind the scenes".
