Operations Division Resources
The Operations Division establishes maintenance policies and standards for highway facilities. The Division monitors maintenance operations to ensure statewide uniformity. The Division establishes long-range maintenance goals and recommends allocation levels to accomplish these goals.
The Division also liaises between field maintenance organizations and central office organizations, coordinates intra- district maintenance operations, assists field maintenance organizations during emergencies, and coordinates building and grounds activities statewide.
The Division oversees and manages Bridge and Tunnel maintenance and inspection. The Division is the home of the State’s central office arm of the federally required Bridge Inspection and Tunnel Inspection Programs. The management, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, and the State’s Special Inspection team comprise the Inspection Group. The Division also houses the Evaluation and Permit Section, a Bridge Preservation Unit, and a Special Bridge repair projects Section.
The Division oversees and manages statewide contracts for numerous commonly utilized bridge repair and maintenance items supplies.
The Bridge Preservation Section is responsible for developing contract plans for Clean and Paint bridge projects, including full clean and paints and minor bridge rehabs and repairs. They also facilitate the Six-year Consultant Bridge Inspection program from advertisement to the agreement process.
