Know To Drive Online Testing

Applicant’s taking the online written test are subject to the fraudulent license penalties of WV Code 17B-3-12. Online testing is considered part of the driver’s license application process.

Penalties include but are not limited to the following:

Suspension of the driver’s license for 90 days for anyone under who commits a fraud in making application for a driver’s license. Fraudulent activity during the online written test includes using assistance from any person, device, notes, cheat sheets or using outside assistance in any other manner.

The online testing process contains facial recognition technology and other safeguards to determine when an applicant is using assistance at any time during the test. If fraudulent activity is detected during the test, the test will be stopped resulting in an automatic failure.  If any ensuing investigation reveals fraud your privilege to test will be suspended for a period of at least 90 days and you must pay a $50 reinstatement fee prior to being authorized to test again.

If any person assists an applicant to commit a fraud during the test, the person providing assistance will have his or her driver’s license suspended for a period of at least 90 days and will have to pay a reinstatement fee of $50 before the license will be reinstated.
