Appraisal

The Appraisal Section of the Right of Way Division of the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, primary mission is to ensure that every property owner whose land is needed for a highway project is compensated justly and in compliance with applicable law — specifically the federal Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (the Uniform Act), implemented through 49 CFR Part 24, as well as the West Virginia Codes provisions governing eminent domain and property acquisition.
