All northbound lanes and one southbound lane are reopen on the West Virginia Turnpike following an early morning tractor trailer crash that shut down the Turnpike for several hours.
At around midnight on Thursday, April 17, 2025, a tractor trailer heading north on the Turnpike rolled over at mile marker 66 near Mahan, and spilled its cargo of heavy plastic pipe into the southbound lanes. Two tractor-trailers heading south hit the pipes and also crashed and burst into flames.
The tractor trailer fires in turn sparked a brush fire in the area. It took local firefighters several hours to extinguish the blazes.
No one was injured in the crashes, but three more cars were damaged.
