CHARLESTON, WV – The westbound slow and middle lanes will be closed on Interstate 64, across the Eugene A. Carter Memorial Bridge, from 8 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026, to 6 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2026, for pothole repairs.
Expect delays. There will be continuing work on the bridge in coming months in preparation for a redecking project.
In June, Triton Construction Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $74.5 million to replace the deck on the 50-year-old bridge.
