MacCorkle Avenue Turnpike ramp to close beginning Sunday, February 23, 2025

The connector ramp from MacCorkle Avenue West to the West Virginia Turnpike (Interstate 77/64) will experience nightly closures to allow crews to safely perform essential repairs to the Charles "Chuck" Yeager Bridge. Overnight motorists will need to utilize a designated detour to access the Turnpike.

Designated Nighttime Detour

Motorists wishing to access the Turnpike from MacCorkle Avenue West during active closure hours should follow these instructions:

  • Continue driving past the closed entrance ramp.
  • Turn around at the Kanawha Mall.
  • Proceed onto the Turnpike using the MacCorkle Avenue eastbound ramp.

Traffic Note: The connector ramp will be completely open to traffic during the day outside of the active 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. construction window.
