The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) will temporarily close lanes on the eastbound Eugene A. Carter Memorial Bridge, which carries Interstate 64 and U.S. Route 119 in Charleston, for emergency deck repairs this weekend.
Lane closures will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, and continue until approximately 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24. Work will occur in phases, with at least one lane of traffic open at all times. Drivers should expect reduced speed limits, lane restrictions, and periodic delays.
When crews are working in the slow lane, the Oakwood Road (58A) and Virginia Street (58B) exits will be closed.

The WVDOH urges drivers to plan ahead, budget extra travel time, and stay alert for changing traffic patterns and workers in the construction zone.
