West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) District 10 work crews are repairing a short span bridge that collapsed in Mercer County.
The 20-foot timber decked bridge, located on Willowton Road in Mercer County, partially collapsed after an asphalt truck drove across it on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. No one was injured, and no vehicles were damaged.
A work crew from District 10 Disforce, or District Forces, was at the bridge Wednesday, August 26, 2026, making repairs. Crews hope to have the bridge reopen by the end of the week.
