WVDOH to repair sinkhole in Fairmont

The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) is drawing up plans to repair a sinkhole that opened on Beverly Road in Fairmont.

WVDOH engineers had been working with officials in Fairmont to address an existing sinkhole that closed Beverly Road, but an additional sinkhole opened over the past few days.

WVDOH work crews will install concrete barriers on US 250 to divert traffic from the sinkhole and completely close Beverly Road until the sinkhole can be repaired. WVDOH engineers are currently designing a project to replace the storm sewer that led to the sinkholes opening.
