What is the cost to purchase an E-ZPass® transponder for a commercial vehicle?

For commercial accounts, there is a $25 charge for each E-ZPass® transponder (non-refundable).  Commercial customers may purchase multiple tags with a single account.

What are the two discount plans offered to ALL classes of commercial vehicles?

West Virginia E-ZPass®

By opening an account with West Virginia E-ZPass®, commercial customers now have a Discount Plan to save them money.  Opening a WV E-ZPass® Account will provide you or your company with savings.

Cost:  For a 5axle tractor-trailer, the cost per toll plaza of $5.40 will be deducted from a prepaid account ($100.00 minimum) as opposed to a cash rate of $13.50. A Credit card or ACH replenishes the balance by $100.00 (or whatever limit you set) each time your account balance falls below your preset low balance threshold.

Savings:  Provides up to a 20% savings in toll rates for commercial vehicles, 2axle and up, or a 35% savings for all others.

Transponder Charge:  $25.00 charge for each E-ZPass® transponder (nonrefundable).

Restrictions: No residency restrictions.

Non West Virginia E-ZPass®

A discount is provided for Non-West Virginia E-ZPass® commercial customers to save them money. For example, a 5-axle tractor-trailer, the cost per toll plaza of $11.74 will be charged to your Non-WV E-ZPass® account, as opposed to a cash rate of $13.50.  This plan provides up to a 13% savings in toll for 2-axle and up commercial vehicles.  There are no residency restrictions.  The Non WV E-ZPass® also applies to IPASS, PREPASS, BESTPASS, and NORPASS as they use E-ZPass technology.

What are my payment options?

For commercial accounts, the West Virginia Parkways Authority only offers Prepaid Toll Payment Options, the following are your payment options:

      ·         Automatic Account Replenishment by Credit/Debit Card or ACH:  You authorize the West Virginia Parkways Authority to replenish your account by automatically charging the card or bank information on file whenever your prepaid account falls below your low balance threshold.

      ·         Manual Account Replenishment:  You will be responsible for replenishment of your account, by mailing in a check or money order, in person at our Customer Service Center, by Credit/Debit Card or ACH by phone or through our online Account Management system.  You will be responsible for the management of your account balance and will be responsible for any toll violations or fees that occur from a negative account balance.

What credit cards do you accept?

We currently accept MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and American Express.

Can I open an account with an account balance without the automatic replenishment option?

Yes, we do offer manual replenishment for commercial accounts, but it is not recommended.

Will every commercial vehicle need a tag?

In addition to receiving a discount, we recommend equipping each commercial vehicle that uses the West Virginia Parkways with a transponder because it will help speed commercial traffic through toll plazas while giving drivers a more convenient way to pay tolls without stopping.

Are transponders transferable to different vehicles?

Yes, you may transfer transponders to different vehicles, as long as they are of the same vehicle class.  You should notify us of the changes in your vehicle’s registration information so that we can identify vehicles whose transponders are not working properly, and other similar situations.

Will West Virginia E-ZPass® accounts be prepaid or postpaid?

West Virginia E-ZPass® commercial accounts must be prepaid.  Commercial customers can prepay their accounts via credit card, ACH, check and cash paid in person at the Customer Service Center.

What information will be included on the statements?

Monthly statements will display all E-ZPass® transaction information such as date, time, plaza, toll charges and vehicle classification for all E-ZPass® toll facilities used.

Why can't I view the individual transponder balances on my account?

If you have multiple E-ZPass® transponders on your account, they share one account balance. You can still view individual transaction histories by transponder and monthly toll usage.

What do I have to do if I buy a new car or get new plates?
