WVDOT to Discuss Road Bond with DOH District 1 Counties, Friday, August 10

​CHARLESTON- As the West Virginia Department of Transportation continues initiating highway projects around the state, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has asked Secretary of Transportation Tom Smith to meet with every county in the State to discuss the Governor’s Roads to Prosperity program and share the process of how projects are chosen, and dollars distributed.
The next round of meetings will focus on DOH District 1 counties of Boone, Clay, Kanawha, Mason and Putnam.  On Friday, August 10, the DOT team will meet at the District 1 Headquarters at 1340 Smith Street in Charleston, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to present to:

9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Kanawha County
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Putnam County
11:00 – 12:00 p.m. Mason County
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Clay County
2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Boone County

Each county will meet separately for one hour to learn from Secretary Smith, Deputy Secretary Jill Newman, State Highway Engineer Aaron Gillispie and District 1 Manager Travis Knighton and the rest of the District 1 team, about information regarding Roads to Prosperity projects and Highway funding in their area.  The media is invited to attend.
