Greenbag Road Widening

STATE PROJECT: U331-857/00-0.00 00
FEDERAL PROJECT: STBG-0857(024)D
LOCATION: Monongalia County, West Virginia

The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) and the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are developing a second widening project for Greenbag Road. Originally built as a rural route for industrial truck access, the road has become a major arterial serving Morgantown’s growing commercial, residential, and institutional areas. The project aims to address current congestion and safety deficiencies caused by narrow lanes and inadequate shoulders.
