Novak Drive Connector Study
The West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways (WVDOH), in collaboration with the Hagerstown / Eastern Panhandle Metropolitan Planning Organization (HEPMPO), conducted a preliminary planning-level study regarding the Novak Drive Connector in Berkeley County, West Virginia.
Project Overview and Purpose
The study was initiated to evaluate the necessity and feasibility of a new access road connecting WV 9 and Novak Drive. The primary goals of this potential connector include improving local access, reducing congestion on existing routes, and supporting economic development in the Martinsburg area.
Workshop and Public Engagement
An informational public workshop was held on June 27, 2017, at:

This open-house style meeting allowed the WVDOH, HEPMPO, and the Consultant Team to present preliminary findings directly to the community.
- Format: Open Workshop (No formal presentation was made).
- Time: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Input Process: The public was afforded the opportunity to ask questions and give written comments on the project throughout the workshop.
- Status: The comment period for this study ended on July 28, 2017.
