The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Section Portal and data available and associated herein is designed to provide and disseminate transportation information to the citizens of West Virginia. The Portal minimizes or eliminates the need for users to have stand-alone GIS software while providing geospatial data. A strength of this technology is the ability to integrate data from many sources and from many scales. As a result, the users will view the data at varying degrees of accuracy. The Portal is for general geospatial transportation information purposes only and is not intended for legal, engineering, or surveying purposes.
