The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) will hold an informational workshop public meeting on Monday, March 9, 2026, in the Indoor Showroom at the Mon County Center, 270 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV, to provide information on Phase 1 of the Western Monongalia County Gateways project which includes improvements to Interstate 79 and along the Chaplin Hill Road corridor. The project will reconfigure the interchange, replace aging bridges, construct a two-lane flyover for westbound traffic leaving Morgantown, and improve Chaplin Hill Road in the area adjacent to Exit 155 into a multi-lane boulevard style roadway. This meeting complies with the public involvement requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act of 1966.


NO FORMAL PRESENTATION WILL BE MADE


​The public meeting will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the public will be afforded the opportunity to ask questions and give written comments on the project throughout the meeting. A handout with project details will be available at the meeting and on the project website.​​
