In order to promote safe driving practices and to assist in the reduction of insurance claims and costs, all DOH employees with a driver's license must take a driver training course. Utilizing the Smith System: Driver Training “The Critical Point,” employees are coached on the procedures for driving safely. The training is delivered on the first Monday of each month for all new employees in the Divisions within the Division of Highways. Smith Driver Training for District employees are scheduled by the District Training Coordinators.
