MEDIA ADVISORY: Spencer’s Colonel Ruby Bradley Bridge to be scooted into position the night of Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023

Workers for Rock Forge Bridge Company and subcontractors will team up to move Spencer’s Colonel Ruby Bradley Bridge into position on its new abutments over the night of Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023. The bridge will be slid into position a few inches at a time beginning around 8 p.m.

Gov. Jim Justice awarded Rock Forge, of Amma, a contract of $5.8 million to rebuild the Colonel Ruby Bradley Bridge in September 2020. Rock Forge built a new bridge beside the old span, tore down the old bridge and will slide the new bridge onto the site of the old bridge in an overnight operation. The bridge will be closed to traffic for short periods of time overnight while the bridge is moved into place.
