This program serves to pursue a comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all. Key actions of the program are expanding access and opportunity to all communities while focusing on underserved, overburdened, and disadvantaged communities. Four focus areas – wealth creation, power of community, interventions, and expanding access – are designed to place people and communities at the center of WVDOT’s equity efforts. WVDOT is using these focus areas to develop concrete actions that will thoughtfully redress historic inequalities, positively impact historically underserved or overburdened communities in meaningful ways and ensure that WVDOT is equipped to equitably deliver its resources and benefits.
