RALEIGH COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA

The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) will hold a Public Informational Workshop on May 21st2024, at Beckley City Hall, located at 409 S Kanawha St, Beckley, WV 25801 on the proposed WVU Tech Campus Corridor Project. WVDOH is planning traffic flow and streetscape improvements to South Kanawha Street (WV 210). The project consists of converting South Kanawha Street to a one-way southbound road between Beaver Avenue/Johnstown Road and Main Street and Minnesota Avenue to a one-way northbound road in its entirety. Minnesota Avenue will also be extended to connect at Beaver Avenue. To improve traffic flow, a roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of South Kanawha Street and Beaver Avenue/Johnstown Road. This meeting complies with the public involvement requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and Section 4(f) of U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Act of 1966.

NO FORMAL PRESENTATION WILL BE MADE. The scheduled public meeting is from 4 to 7 p.m. and the public will be afforded the opportunity to ask questions and give written comments on the project throughout the meeting. A handout with project details will be available at the meeting and on the WVDOH Website.
